  26.                                   Overview
  27.                                   --------

  29. This is designed to take a command line parameter of a dos directory
  30. containing NEW files you wish to locally upload into the Feathernet
  31. DIRxx files.  The actual files will be moved into the corresponding
  32. DOS directory for the DIRxx file as specified in the configuration and
  33. the DIR.LST (type) file.
  34.  
  35. If desired,  you can choose to move a file to any directory path listed in
  36. a DLPATH.LST file.
  37.  
  38.         LOCALUP allow you to view any non-binary file.  You may also view
  39. the contents of a ZIP, ARJ, LHA or arc file (pkunpak only).  Self
  40. extracting archives are also supported as archive type is determined by
  41. signature, not file extension.
  42.  
  43.         LOCALUP will insert the contents of FILE_ID.DIZ file into your
  44. directory listing, bypassing the need for you to manually edit a file
  45. listing.
  46.  
  47.         LOCALUP allows 20 description lines per file (46 characters max per
  48. line).
  49.  
  50.         Each file is processed immediately upon the description being
  51. entered or the FILE_ID.DIZ file description used by pressing the INS key.

  57.   1. The following programs need to be in your system's PATH.
  58.      PKUNZIP.EXE
  59.      ARJ.EXE
  60.      LHA.EXE
  61.      PKUNPAK.EXE

  63.   2. If any of these programs are not in the PATH, archive viewing and
  64.      FILE_ID.DIZ operations are disabled for the affected archive format.
  65.  
  66.   3. Archive contents VIEWING is internal for ZIP, ARC and LHA archives.
  67.      This does not include extracting the FILE_ID.DIZ file or reading files
  68.      within an archive.

  71. Operation

  76. Where:
  77.  "C:\Tmpfiles" is a DOS directory with some files stored in it which you want
  78.  to add descriptions to the bbs DIRxx files and make available for downloading
  79.  
  80.  "DIR.LST" is the name of the Directory Listing FIle you wish to use for
  81.  selecting the appropriate DIRxx files and DOS directories.

  83.  "DLPATH.LST" is the name of the Download Paths Listing File you wish to
  84.  use to provide additional paths to move files into.
  85.  
  86.  "DIZ" causes LOCALUP to check for a FILE_ID.DIZ description file within an
  87.  archive.  If present, you will be prompted to press 'INS' to insert the
  88.  FILE_ID.DIZ file and add process the file.

  90.  "PCB" causes LOCALUP to use the pcboard DLPATH.LST file format.  If using
  91.  pcboard bbs, you *must* add the "PCB" parameter.

  93.  FeatherNet uses a "fixed length" DLPATH.LST file which includes the
  94.  required security level to D/L files from the specified path.
  95.  
  96.  All parameters above except "DIZ" and "PCB" are mandatory.

  99. Features
  100. --------
  101. o Actual DOS Directory a file will be moved to and free space remaining is
  102.   displayed when selecting a directory category for a file.  Keep in mind
  103.   even though the assigned dos directory for a file is at minimum space
  104.   remaining, you may choose any DLPATH.LST directory (if configured) for
  105.   the file to be moved into.
  106.  
  107. o You may select the DIRxx file for a description to go into and also
  108.   choose to send the file to be uploaded locally to one of the
  109.   DLPATH.LST file directories (if configured).
  110.  
  111. o Press LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys to skip to the previous/next file.
  112.  
  113. o Checks for existing destination file and queries for overwrite.
  114.  
  115. o Verifies that a file is not being 'copied' onto itself (if you happen to
  116.   be processing files in a directory configured for the bbs.
  117.  
  118. o FILE_ID.DIZ supported (If "FILE_ID.DIZ" exists in the archive it will be
  119.   used as the file description if the INS key is pressed at any time when
  120.   prompted to enter the file description).
  121.  
  122. o Viewing archives and reading text files within archives supported.
  123.  
  124. o Displaying (reading) of any (non binary) file supported.
